Two-hatted Lucio’s Italian Restaurant Paddington first opened its doors in 1983 and this year celebrates its 35th anniversary.

Both Lucio’s and Paddington are steeped in history. The restaurant has welcomed every Australian prime minister since Gough Whitlam, international movie stars and entertainers and some of Australia’s most celebrated artists through its doors. Founder and inimitable host, Lucio Galletto was awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia in 2008 for his contributions as a restaurateur, author and supporter of the arts.

Lucio says, ‘The combination of great food, great service and great art on the walls is, in my opinion, one of the best dining experiences you can imagine. I look forward to continue celebrating with our regulars, and welcoming a new generation of diners with our series of unique, and approachable innovations as tribute to our 35 years. Paddington reminds me of the villages I grew up in in Italy, and I can’t think of a finer place to continue calling home’.

The kitchen continues to focus on Northern-Italian cuisine, fresh pasta and classic dishes with a modern touch. Lucio’s iconic art collection, along with the restaurant’s warmth and legendary service have led to it becoming one of Sydney’s hospitality stalwarts.
